Simon Barry – Human Kind Podcast
People come in all shapes, sizes, colors and hues.
This is not news.
What is news apparently, is our ability to transcend these divisions and reunify under the banner of one humanity.
One love.
Unfortunately, we’re not there yet.
The original sins from slavery to Jim Crow still go unaccounted for, and African Americans often find themselves on the outside looking in when it comes to making decisions about their own lives or consolidating any sort of power within the political systems of today.
In this episode of Human Kind, I rewind to a previous conversation I had with my brother Justin Clark.
If you dont know him, you should. A thoughtful and insightful black man with perspectives that frankly deserve more attention.
We spoke of issues like reparations, but also spoke to the reality of a Black America divorced from external hopes, and reconnected to the true fire inside.
That truth?
We don’t need reparation… not really.
We just need ourselves.
Obviously, this is just my opinion. If you’d like to hear Justin’s, and maybe even form your own opinion on the matter – check out episode 5 of Human Kind (Spotify link)
